About | John Stanley (Jack) Provost February 22, 1944 to April 21, 2002 Jack was born in Greenbelt, MD, the son of Stanley J Provost and Marita Freeman Provost. Jack graduated from Carrol HS in Ozark, AL in 1962 where he enjoyed varsity basketball and many good friends. Jack joined the US Army in 1964 where he served in Vietnam and Tacoma, Wa. After running his one man remodeling business, “Have Tools Will Travel”, he turned to the food industry where he started out as a chef at the Pirates House Restaurant in Savannah, GA. Then after¬ owning the Dairy Bar Restaurant in Columbia, SC for several years, he opened a second place, The Ruby Seahorse Restaurant, on Edisto Island, SC. Jack died of a heart attack and was buried according to his wishes – his ashes scattered off the beach at Edisto. |
