| About | Delores "Ann" Hobbs, 80, passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at her home. She was born February 24, 1943 in Lake Village, Arkansas, to Jayne Sivils Hobbs and John Shirley Hobbs, who preceded her in death. She is survived by a brother, John Samuel Hobbs, a sister, Lane Hobbs Brown (Charlie), a niece, Stacy Whatley (David), and great nieces Kaleigh Whatley and Madison Whatley. Other survivors include her beloved aunt and uncle June and John Sivils, dear cousins, and many special friends. Ann taught at Shades Valley High School, and also served as cheerleader sponsor. After her retirement from teaching she worked for the Birmingham News as the Supervisor of their Research Department. She was a member of Dawson Baptist Church. In accordance with her wishes, she will be buried in Arkansas in a private ceremony. The family requests any memorial gifts be directed to Samford University. |
