Graduation Year Class of 1972
Date of Passing Feb 09, 2009
About Arthur Paul Langley, 54, died of natural causes Feb. 8, 2009, at his home in Eagle River.
A celebration of life and potluck will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Alaskan Aircraft Engines, 2425 Merrill Field Drive in Anchorage.
Arthur Paul Langley was born April 14, 1954, in Fairbanks to Marion "Red" Langley and Gladys Langley. He graduated from Lathrop High School in Fairbanks in 1972. He married his lifelong friend Cynthia Maggard on March 14, 1989 in Anchorage.
Arthur was a lifelong Alaskan and worked in variety of jobs in both Fairbanks and Anchorage.
Arthur had many interests and hobbies throughout his life, but his love of his family and spending time with them was his favorite thing to do. Although he liked to travel, he loved being and living in Alaska most of all. Arthur worked at Alaskan Aircraft Engines for almost 13 years and developed many close friendships there.
Arthur will be best remembered for his kind and loving heart, and his generosity. If you needed something, Arthur was always there to lend a hand without ever asking for anything in return. He will be remembered by those who knew and loved him for his unique sense of humor and big smile.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Langley of The Dallas, Ore.; daughter, Shawnie Shelden of Anchorage; sister and brother-in-law, Florie and David Wilcoxson of Fairbanks; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Jana Langley of Stowe, Vt.; six grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Donations may be sent to The American Cancer Society.
