Chris Sven Eriksson Obituary

Graduation Year Class of 1981
Date of Passing Dec 20, 1990
About Electrician and outdoorsman Chris Sven Eriksson, 28, died in an accident involving a downed power line Dec. 20 at Mile 17.5 Knik Road in Wasilla. A service was held at St. John's United Methodist Church in Anchorage. Pastor John Page officiated.

Born Sept. 3, 1962, in Anchorage, he was a 1981 graduate of Service High School. He also graduated from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers apprentice school. Mr. Eriksson was employed with Ed's Electric Inc. In the past he had worked for Blitz Electric, Alcan Electric and Redi Electric. He was very outdoors oriented. He particularly enjoyed competitive downhill and back-country skiing, scuba diving, snowmachining, hunting and fishing. A family member made the following statement: "Chris will be sorely missed by many people. He was well-loved by his family and friends and returned that love openly. Those who knew him will remember his outward friendliness, his quick smile and easy laugh, his unselfishness with his time and energy, and the unhesitating manner with which he gave them. He positively affected those fortunate enough to come in contact with him. He approached life in the same manner as he did his numerous sporting activities aggressively and with exuberance. He was a genuine friend to many and a model of what a friend can be. His life was short but full."
