About | Rich Plichta, of Flagstaff, died Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004, at the Olivia White Hospice Home. He was 53. He was born Jan. 14, 1951, in Riverside, N.J., to Gerard and Irene Plichta. He attended All Saints Catholic School, Burlington High School and Trenton State College, all in New Jersey, and the University of Colorado in Greely. Mr. Plichta worked as a guidance counselor at Chinle High School from 1976-1990, and at Sinagua High School from 1990-1999. He also helped to start a volunteer fire department and served as assistant fire chief for the Chinle Fire Department. He loved his family very much and will always be remembered as a great husband, father, brother and son. He had a passion for computers, cars and very fast motorcycles. He was active with the vocational departments in Chinle and Flagstaff and had a great love for at-risk students and encouraged them to follow their dreams.
