When I was in the Army, 1968 -1971 I went home on Christmas leave 1968 before shipping out overseas. I met the newly commissioned 1st Lt. Bill Wilson my childhood friend at the Temple Theater in Fort Smith. He was home on Christmas leave from the Army. Bill had finished two years of college at OMA (OMA was also a military Jr College) and he went on to the University of Houston for a Bachelors Degree in Engineering & ROTC. I was a E-3, Private First Class and gladly saluted O-2, Lt. Bill Wilson. That was the Christmas of 1968, January of 1969 the Lt. was shot in the back of the head while leading a patrol in Vietnam.
