About Amber Elizabeth Loye Sommer, 31, of Rogers, Arkansas died Thursday, August 22, at her home. She was born August 28, 1970 in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of William G. and Mary Hickey Loye.

She had lived in the area for five years, after moving to Rogers from Hot Springs. She was a member of the Trinity Church of Hot Springs. She was a 1993 graduate at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, with a degree in Communications. She was a Retail Link Analyst for Johnson & Johnson CPC and PPC Divisions.

She was a charter member of Kappa Delta Sorority, at the University of Arkansas. She was a member of American Women’s Association. She volunteered for the Live Under Construction Boys Ranch in Lampe, Missouri. She helped organize the 2001 and 2002 Arkansas Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership Seminar, HOBY. She was the Director of Finance and the Director of In-Kind Donations for HOBY, as well as named the 2002 Outstanding Volunteer of the Year for the Arkansas HOBY Chapter. She was a member of the Rogers “Retail Link User Group”. She was a volunteer for “Reading Buddies” at Russell D. Jones Elementary School in Rogers.

She is survived by: her husband, David Sommer, of the home, whom she married June 17, 1995; her parents, William G. and Mary H. Loye of Hot Springs; one brother, William Scott Loye and his wife, Ava Nell and daughter, Zara, of Hot Springs; father-in-law, Rudolph H. Sommer, of Hot Springs; mother-in-law, Erica Sommer of Horseshoe Bend; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Andrew and Jeannie Sommer and children, Zac and Sara, of Dallas, Texas; paternal grandmother, Grace Loye of Hot Springs.

Funeral arrangements will be Monday, August 26, at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Church in Hot Springs, Arkansas with Reverend Jim Adkins officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Cemetery in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Doug MacRae, Danny Vatson, Kenny Schweer, Eric Fehmel, Steve Stubby, Vinco Hotho, David Saracini and Mark Berry.

Hot Springs visitation will be Sunday, August 25, 2002, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Gross Funeral Home in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
