| About | Dena Marie Taylor passed away June 15, 2026 at the age of 85. She was always up for an adventure and lived a life full of travel, writing, and editing. In her mid-sixties, she took flying lessons and advanced to flying solo. Dena attended Balboa High School, still maintaining friendships from those years. She graduated from the University of Oregon with a B.A. in Sociology. She earned her Master’s in Social Work from Rutgers University with an emphasis in Community Organization. She was program manager for Cabrillo College’s Fast Track to Work. Dena published several books, her most recent being an anthology titled When a Woman Tells the Truth. Dena had an infectious laugh and will be deeply missed by her family and many, many friends. A Celebration of Dena’s Life will take place near the end of March of 2027.
