About | James "Jim" Francis Ward, of Sacramento, formerly of Hillsborough, passed away on February 18, 2023, after a period of failing health. Jim was the son of Jane E. Ward and the late Albert A. Ward Jr. Jim was born on October 1, 1960 in Pennsylvania. He, his sister, Elizabeth Ward, and his parents moved to Hillsborough, CA. where he graduated from Burlingame High School. Jim went on to study at UC Santa Barbara. Upon graduation, he moved to San Diego to begin a master's program and care for his ailing grandfather. After college, he moved back to the bay area where he joined his father's business. Jim had a love for people and made it his mission to give back to the world. He spent countless hours working with and supporting foster youth at a group home in San Francisco. In many cases, that help and support continued for decades after the youths aged out of the system. After years in SF, he moved to Sacramento where he pursued real estate and did consulting for industrial equipment. He was an incredibly kind human being with an enormous heart and literally gave the shirt off his back on many instances. He was passionate about improving the lives of people and animals and the type of person who would drop everything to help a family member, friend or distressed animal in need. He made an incredible impact on all those who knew him. Jim truly cherished time spent with friends and family and had a love for the ocean and the desert. Jim leaves behind an incredible void in those who loved him. Godspeed, incredible friend. |
