About | October 6, 1953 - July 3, 2021 Robert Martin Refvem II, known as Martin Refvem, passed away at home in Pasadena, MD at 1:30 PM EST July 3, 2021. A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, Martin attended Burlingame High School and the Woodside Priory, and was graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno in Structural Engineering. His remarkable career spanned over 30 years, and included design and retrofit work on marine vessels for the US Navy and Coast Guard under Lockheed Martin and Northrup Grumman. Martin was the son of Robert Martin Refvem and Virginia Gabriel Refvem, both of Stanfield, OR. To cherish his memory, he is survived by his wife of 33 years, Dawn Refvem of Pasadena, MD, their daughter Sarah Virginia Refvem of New Orleans, LA, and sisters Cynthia Refvem Nelson of Georgetown, TX and Lisa Refvem Davis of Kennewick, WA, and their families. “Uncle Bib” leaves behind 7 nieces and nephews and 4 great nephews. Martin was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Severna Park, MD and was active in the North County Republican Party. He was a passionate patriot and an avid reader of history. His service in NCRP resulted in significant wins for his district. “A life well lived”, Martin was a skilled sportsman, accomplished skier and hiker, and he enjoyed rock climbing and white water rafting as well. He was knowledgeable about construction, gardening, and landscaping, and he was, above all, a family man. Known for his dry wit and brilliant sense of humor, Martin was a man beloved by his family and friends. A memorial service to celebrate Martin’s life is set for 11 a.m. on July 23, 2021 at the Severna Park Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Severna Park, MD. |
