About | Steve played baseball for BHS and was a straight A student in Algebra and in Mr. Ewing's Latin Class. Steve was born in Lancashire, England in 1945 and sailed to America in 1946 with his mother, Pat, who was an English war bride. The family initially settled in San Francisco and then moved to Burlingame for Steve's Junior year of High School. Steve worked in the family business, Modern Carpet Co. in San Francisco and then later moved to Santa Cruz to be closer to his family, the ocean and the surfing. While in Santa Cruz he worked for Community Connections and volunteered in many direct mail campaigns. Steve was known for his warm and friendly personality, his zany sense of humor and his ability to make friends easily. He was a loving brother and taught his younger sisters and many friends how to shoot hoops. He loved watching baseball, and listening to his favorite song, "In my Room." The Beach Boys and The Righteous Bros. were some of his favorite music. Steve is dearly missed by his four sisters, Susan Arete Nicholas, Sandra Nicholas Beges, Sally Nicholas Benyola, Sherree Nicholas Bocast and 12 nieces and nephews. May our Beloved Brother Steve's memory be a blessing to all who knew him. Whenever you hear the Beach Boys just say a little prayer for Steve. |
