About | Dee-Jade P. Chock entered into rest on March 28, 2008; she was 29 years of age. A native of Southern California, Dee graduated from Edison High School in Huntington Beach as part of the class of '96. She continued her education at the University of San Francisco earning a bachelor's in communications in 2000. While at USF, Dee managed the campus graphics center and met her future husband. Dee is remembered for her selflessness, generosity, and devotion to family and friends. She has been inspirational during her difficult 12 year battle with kidney cancer. Missing her greatly is her loving husband, Joma Briones of Union City; parents, Hamilton and Doreen Chock of Huntington Beach; siblings, Terry Chock of Kaneohe, HI, Jackie Chock of Costa Mesa, Kelly Chock-Mao of Union City, Hamilton Chock of Foster City, and Jaelyn Sibley of Carlsbad; nieces, Teal, Meghan, Larkin, and Fern; nephews, Trey and Evan; her two dogs, Happy and Meeko; her cat, Kuma; and many more loving family members and friends. Services were held on April 4, 2008 at the Lifemark Center Funeral Home at Skylawn Memorial Park in San Mateo (650) 349-4411. The Mass of Christian Burial was held on April 5, 2008 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in San Francisco (415) 422-2188. The final resting place is Skylawn Memorial Park, San Mateo. It was one of Dee's aspirations to create a fund to assist other young people living with cancer in enrolling in and completing their higher education. Any donations in lieu of flowers can made to the name of "Dee-Jade Pi'ilani Chock Memorial Fund" at any Wells Fargo bank which will be used as seed money to establish a foundation to carry out Dee's wishes.
