About | Exact date of death unknown. Jerry R. Adame was forty-seven years old when he passed in 73 or 74 from cancer. He was very very successful in the wholesale produce business. He had traveled the world as a banana whole seller and had just signed a contract with United Steamship pryor to his death to market bananas around the globe. He would travel to places like Costa Rica, Honduras, Panama, Hawaii and other tropical countries that grew fruits like pineapples, mangoes and bananas. He had put one of the local wholesale produce company, General Produce, on the map. Today they have been in Sacramento for over 75 years. He was married three times and had five children, four from the first wife, JoAnn Asay (EGHS '66) and one from the third wife. - Information from brother Lupe (EGHS class '69) |
