About | Margaret Poling died at home on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at the age of 61. She was born May 8, 1947 to John Knox Knox and Frances Hulda Sears Knox in Seattle, Washington. As a child, she resided briefly in Furgus, Ontario, Canada before moving to Fallbrook. After the death of her father in 1953, the family moved to Bartlesville, OK, but soon returned to Fallbrook, where she lived for the next four decades. Margaret graduated from Fallbrook High School in 1965 and continued her education through Whittier College and UCLA. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from San Diego State College, now SDSU. On November 4, 1967, she married Carmen Samuel Poling. Together they founded Fallbrook Country Day School, which she administrated until they moved to Boise, ID in 1994. She then transitioned from elementary school teacher to piano teacher. Music was an important part of her life and she made sure to instill the love of music in her children and numerous students. She also found pleasure in scrapbooking, as it gave her an enjoyable way to cherish her many memories of her family and friends. She loved to garden, read, and most importantly, spend time with her family. She was preceded in death by both parents and a son, Christopher Poling, who died shortly after birth. She is survived by husband, Carmen Poling of Boise, ID; sister Elizabeth Pierce of Fallbrook, CA; daughter and family Chemene, Andrew, Dryden, and Aubrey Granger of Escondido, CA; son and family Gabriel, Kristin, Marlowe, and Isla of Wilton, CT; daughter and family Bronwen, Douglas, and Owen Godfrey of Kuna, ID; son Duncan attending the University of Redlands in CA; son Merritt attending Washington and Lee University in VA; son Lyonal attending the College of Southern Idaho in ID; and daughter Molly attending Hood College in MD. |
