About | Richard Carl Weyrauch was born Oct. 11, 1952, in San Pedro California to Maria Cruz Weyrauch (Ortiz) and Robert Charles Weyrauch. He is a member of the Tohono O’odham Nation in Arizona and was proud of his native ties. He grew up in southern California, graduating from Hemet High School in 1971. After moving to Nevada he met his wife Elaine, where they shared the joys and challenges of making a life together. They have been together for the past 30 years. A 20-year resident of Las Vegas, Richard worked for Bowe Bell & Howell as a service technician in charge of the machinery that creates and sends credit card bills. He was an avid rock hound and loved being outdoors away from the lights and glitter of the city. He camped frequently with friends and family, laughing and enjoying the simple beauty and pleasure of the natural world. He loved his rocks and dirt. He was passionate in his interests and taught himself to be an expert in many fields. He is survived by his wife Elaine Weyrauch and her two children, Becky Cheek and Robert McGregor, as well as his mother, Maria Cruz Weyrauch, and his siblings. He will join one brother, Ron Weyrauch, who died 19 years ago. He will be dearly missed by his surviving brothers Robert (Judy) Weyrauch and Dennis (Rosemary) Weyrauch, who live in California; sisters R. Cruz Begay Spence (David) of Flagstaff, Ariz. and Reina (Tom) Weyrauch Rogers of Greenville have remained close to him throughout the years. He is also survived by older sisters Marilyn Jones and Roberta Meyers; godchildren Shonri Begay and Tommy Rogers, numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews in Arizona, California and Nevada. Services were held Friday, Dec. 19, 2008, at the Davis Funeral Home located on Charleston Street in Las Vegas, Nev. From the Plumas County news on-line |
