Danny Marlon McCalister Beloved husband, father, son and brother, passed away on October 29, 2007, at age 45. Born in Palo Alto and resided in Sunnyvale. Danny was a 1980 graduate of Henry M. Gunn High School in Palo Alto where he played both basketball and football. Danny was named Athlete of the Year his senior year. He attended the University of Oregon on a full football scholarship receiving his Bachelor's Degree in Communications. All who came in contact with Danny loved him. He had an unforgettable smile that he shared with everyone. He was very active in his community, and a responsible and encouraging role model for his younger siblings and friends. Danny also had a passion for sports. He was the Head JV Coach of the Archbishop Mitty Women's Basketball team as well coaching for the SJ Cager's Basketball Club. Danny also enjoyed coaching his 3 children in youth basketball and AAU for many, many years. He worked for El Camino Paving. Danny is survived by his devoted wife Mary Mayfield McCalister, his loving daughter Kassandra and two sons Nathan and Jordan McCalister all of Sunnyvale; his parents Rev. Clifton McCalister and Minnie Robinson McCalister; one sister Mary, five brothers Stanley, Lamont, LenRay, Mark, and Shawn McCalister all of Palo Alto. |
