About | James C. Barnett January 16, 1943 to August 14, 2017 Jim Barnett died peacefully at his home in Milford, CA at the age of 74 from complications of rheumatoid arthritis and lupus. He was born in 1943 in Torrance, California. His childhood was spent in Herlong and Reno and Sacramento, where he married his first wife, and where his daughter Jeanette was born. He moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1965 to work at United Airlines in various positions. He was very active in the Machinists Union (IAMAW) and appreciated the benefits and working conditions. He earned his BA & Master’s Degree in Psychology from San Jose University while working at UAL, and became adjunct faculty at DeAnza Community College, teaching Psychology in the evenings. Jim retired from UAL in 1998 and returned to Lassen County in 2000, and immediately became adjunct faculty at Lassen Community College, again teaching Psychology. He enjoyed teaching his students very much. He also enjoyed playing Texas Hold-Em tournaments and slot machines, and making furniture in his “shop” at his home in Milford. Jim married his beloved spouse Judy and they had 32 wonderful years together in La Honda in the Santa Cruz Mountains and in Lassen County. He is survived by his beloved spouse Judy Macho Barnett, daughter Jeanette Kjosa (David), grandchildren Dan & Nicole of Tampa, Florida, and is related to many families in Lassen County including the Wiles, Sineriuses, Joys, and Bayleses. He joked about sitting in Walker’s Café and watching all the cousins drive by. Jim requested no services. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. |
