About | Steven "Steve" Earl Kessinger Steven "Steve" Earl Kessinger, age 62, went to be with the Lord, on December 20, 2015, after an extended illness. Steve was the youngest of three, (brother to Jim and Sandy) born to Buford Earl and Joan Yvette Kessinger, in Herlong, Ca on March 5, 1953. Class of '71 from Herlong High, Steve graduated from Chico State with his degree in Social Science. His respect for education lead him to teach, prior to helping others as a Respiratory Care Practitioner for 34 years. Steve loved the friends he made working at Saint Mary's Hospital and Tahoe Pacific Hospital prior to retiring in 2012. Steve was a loving son, brother and uncle. He was loved and admired by all of his friends and family. He was a fighter and an optimist. His favorite quote was "It's not how you fall down, but how you get up that matters." Steve had a great sense of humor, was a philosopher and loved reading, fishing and spending time with family and friends. During Steve's illness he spent his time strengthening his relationship with the Lord and talking, laughing and reminiscing with loved ones. Steve was preceded in death by his father Buford Earl Kessinger, mother Joan Yvette Kessinger, and brother James Fredrick Kessinger. He is survived by his sister, Sandra Sue Roth, sister-in-law, Nancy Kessinger, brother-in-law, Joseph James Abbott, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. At Steve's request no formal services will be held. |
