Richard developed a form of cancer and was waiting for to have platet transplant from his Sister, Peggy. However Richard contacted a throat infection and was at the City of Hope, when his body stared to break down. Richard had a massive heart attack just before he was to receive the transplant and succumed. Richard was a Veteran of the US Navy and was on the carrier that retrieved one of the astronauts that came to rest in the ocean. He was very proud of the Navy. Richard and I, Jim Trainor, Richards brother-in-law were like brothers and enjoyed each other, especially playing basketball. Peggy Trainor was his sister who also passed away a year later. |
