About My wife's eldest brother was a student at Sherman High about 1945-46. His name is Frank F. Salsedo, born May 20, 1929 in Sonoma County, California. (Wappo Tribe, Alexander Valley, Sonoma County, California.)
[Frank passed away just a few days ago -- on July 3, 2009.]

Frank's life in brief: Born into the Mishewal-Wappo Tribe in 1929. Attended elementary school and high school in northern California. Frank left Healdsburg, High School in Sonoma Co.,
to attend Sherman Institute. After attending Sherman, Frank returned to his native Sonoma County, where he entered the U.S. Navy on Sept 13, 1947 and was discharged on March 9, 1950, returning to civilian life in Sonoma County, CA. Frank moved to Los Angeles where he began working in film and landed a small role in the movie SMITH, in 1969. His career in movies and television spanned 32 years. Film titles include, Across the Great Divide, I Will Fight No More Forever, as well as appearances in many, many made for television productions / series, such as Walker Texas Ranger, Lizzie McGuire, Grizzly Adams, JAG, Picket Fences, Angel, Northern Exposure, Quantum Leap, 500 Nations and many others.
My wife and I do not know if her brother, Frank graduated from Sherman, however, we do know that he was a student there. If at all possible, we hope that you may have some way to post some type of announcement to let everyone know that Indian youth do go on to lead successful lives and contribute to society in positive ways.

Frank is survived by 4 children and I know they would be very appreciative if we could have some kind of communication from Sherman that confirms the time he spent there as a student
