Graduation Year | Class of 1966 |
Date of Passing | Dec 09, 2014 |
About | Reverend Renz and I reconnected in December of 2010. It was a chance reunion on Facebook at a time when we were both unattached and "single, again"! Our reunion grew into a warm and caring relationship, which we shared with much joy until just before Thanksgiving time 2014! During that week before the holiday, Eric was traveling (by bicycle) from one shelter to another to assist in preparations for Thanksgiving feasts for the homeless citizens in his town. Without warning, Eric was broadsided and flung from his bike into a wrought iron fence, and then slammed into by an automobile driven by a young woman driving under the influence. The injuries of the accident left him critically injured, and he passed away from those injuries December 9th. The reason I'm writing this is to let his classmates know how much he was looking forward to the 50th reunion of the 1966 class! He was very excited (as was I) because we had "a date" to attend that reunion together. Sadly, with an extremely heavy heart, I write this just one day past his 68th birthday (May 16, 2016). You all may not know, but I KNOW what a tragic loss we all suffer in not having Reverend Renz with us any longer. He was an amazing gentleman...full of love for life, love for his fellow men/women, and a tremendous dedication to make life better for the homeless individuals he had a passion to help in any way he could! I ask, that when you all gather in August this year, to include him in your prayers at your reunion event. I assure you, he will hear; his spirit will be near, and I will be grateful for your kindness! Sincerely, Marlena Marshall Mizicko |
