About Karlyn YEPSEN Obituary
YEPSEN, Karlyn Gail

Karlyn Gail Yepsen, 59, of Taylor passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at the St. David's Round Rock Medical Center. She was born November 13, 1954, to John Howard and Marguerite Dorothy Yepsen in Fort Huachuca, Arizona. She is survived by her sisters, Karen Kalgren of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Kristi Perko and husband Rick of Enumclaw, Washington; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She is also survived by her long-time companion and soul mate Paul Anderson of Taylor. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her brother John David Yepsen.

Karlyn attended William Mitchell High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where she graduated in 1973. Years later after moving to Texas, she attended Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English in 1992. She worked for an Austin publishing company for over 17 years.

Karlyn's greatest passion was her love of horses. She had many years of training in the English riding style of dressage, and she was an accomplished rider at the advanced level. She occasionally acted in local community theater, and she was a gifted singer. Her enjoyments included reading, road trips, watching reality cooking shows and classic western TV programs, discussing spiritual topics and current events, and learning about leading-edge medical treatments and alternative healing.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the doctors and staff at St. David's Round Rock Medical Center; the doctors and staff of Texas Oncology; the staff and therapists of HT Home Therapy Austin; and the staff and caregivers of Heavenly Care Giver Services.
Events A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 10 a.m. at the Providence Funeral Home Chapel at 807 Carlos G. Parker Blvd. NW in Taylor. Cremation services were facilitated by Providence Funeral Home.
