Ed passed away in 2000 at his home in Southhampton, Long Island. He was father to five children, and best friend for life. He was a lifelong vegetarian who set up school systems throughout southern Africa, and played basketball every day! He gave of himself always, and he served as a principal in Michigan only two years after graduating college, and set up an internationally recognized alternative system for students left behind. But he left American public education shortly after, and worked in Third World Countries as an administrator and teacher, including Jamaica, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Tanzania, Lesotho and for the Untied Nations. He was also a craftsman, and made African jewelry and clothing lines. |
