Tanya grew up in Gales Ferry. She graduated from Ledyard in 1993 and was pursuing a degree in Environmental Science from Three Rivers. She married Robert Forster in 1996 and then moved to Florida where Robert was stationed with the Navy. Tanya was diagnosed with cancer in 1997 which prompted the Navy to move her and Robert back to CT on a Humanitarian Transfer to be close to their families. Tanya went into remission in 1998. She and Rob bought a house in Colchester. Rob got out of the Navy and began working in his father's business and took advantage of the wood shop that came with the house in his spare time. Tanya set up home, did a lot of work on crafts, and spent time with friends and family. In 1999 the cancer came back. Although she fought with all she had, it took her young life in October of 1999. She is deeply missed by all who knew her. ~Kate DiPalma-Herb |
