About | Roberta passed away peacefully at her home in Braintree, Vermont on the morning of March 21, 2024 after being lovingly cared for by her hospice team for the past year. Roberta was born in Norwich, Connecticut on December 31, 1939 and lived in Lebanon, Connecticut with her parents, William and Helen (Main) Fish and her sister, Judith (Fish) Dixon. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Norwich University in 1985. Bobbi and family moved to Randolph in 1976 from Manchester, NH. Braintree has been her home since 1987. Known locally as the “hat lady” because of the numerous hats she made and wore, she was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, mentor, and friend. A lifelong Girl Scout, United Church deacon, Chandler makeup director and volunteer for many years, artist and supporter of the arts, seamstress extraordinaire, and so much more. The first book in a series of her memoir stories is about to be published. She was very excited to hold the proof copy in her hands and was looking forward to the finished book being available shortly. She is predeceased by her parents, William and Helen Fish and her husband of 46 years, Stephen L. Hislop and a great-grandchild, Jadah. She is survived by her sister, Judith Dixon of North Carolina, her five children, Paul of Braintree, VT, Cynthia of New Zealand, Jonathan of Barre, VT, James of Arizona, and Timothy of Braintree, VT, and her thirteen grandchildren, Brian, Shannon, Louisa, Nathaniel, Camilla, Chelsi, Emily, Kayla, Caleb, Bailey, Trinity, Tristan, and Aniken, and sixteen great grandchildren. A memorial service is being held May 14, 3:00 pm in Randolph, VT at the Red Brick Church (United Church of Randolph) |
