Sam Anthony Cannata Jr. of Cinnamon Ridge, Old Saybrook, died Thursday at William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich. He was 51. He was born in New Britain and graduated from New Britain High School, Class of 1968. He lived in Old Saybrook for 15 years and formerly lived in Plainville and New Britain. He was a member of the Westbrook Lodge of Elks and American Field Service for Exchange Students for 15 years. He was a former member of the Connecticut National Guard of New Britain and circulation manager for The Norwich Bulletin. He is survived by his wife, Sheryl Halstein Cannata; his mother, Frances Messina Cannata of Southington; two daughters, Carrie Ann Cannata of Los Angeles and Erin Lynn Cannata of Old Saybrook; three sisters, Connie Tiffany of Old Saybrook, Laurie Romano of Southington and Carol Levin of Pennsylvania. |
