About GARRICK, Edward Alexander Edward Alexander Garrick, 56, of New Britain died Wednesday (January 17, 2007) at his home after a nearly 10 month courageous battle with brain cancer, his beloved wife Lea at his side. A lifelong New Britain resident he was the son of Edward M. Garrick and the late Ann (Kowalczyk) Garrick. He attended local schools and graduated from New Britain Senior High School in 1968 and received an accounting degree from Tunxis Community College in 1985. He attended Internal Inspection Schools while at Pratt & Whitney where he began his employment in 1969 as an inspector." Eddie" as he was known to his many friends and family maintained his contacts to working with companies associated with aircraft. He spent 17 years with New England Aircraft (Howmet Corp) of Farmington and five years as an inside salesman for Ideal Machinery in Plainville. Most recently prior to his illness he was employed by Sikorsky of Stratford. Eddie had many interests during his lifetime; He belonged to bowling leagues, golf leagues and a Cribbage Club. He was an avid sports fan of "New England's" teams and loved Nascar. He loved to travel and made seeing the U.S. a priority and he did visit 44 of the 50 states. He was married at Saint Peters Church on September 15, 1973 but has faithfully attended and been a parishioner of Saint Mary's Church in New Britain for the last 30 years. He is survived by his wife, Lea (Lewis) Garrick and his only daughter, Candice Kitto of Las Vegas NV; his father, Edward M. Garrick of New Britain. He was predeceased by his brother, Eugene whose wife, Roberta a beloved sister-in-law, helped with his care. He is also survived by brothers, Martin Garrick of Bristol and David Garrick as well as two dear godchildren and 17 much loved nieces and nephews.
