| About | HERMANOWSKI — Robert F., 61, of Yarmouthport, died July 4, 2011. Husband of Karen (Golija). He was a graduate of New Britain High School, Class of 1968 and Boston University. Note from Smitty - Mark Smith: I don’t know if you have heard yet, but Bob Hermanowski passed away on the afternoon of July 4th. He had dealt with lung cancer that had spread to his brain.. I was able to visit him several times over the past year at his home on Cape Cod. He was the Sarge we all remember, upbeat and positive in the face of all that was thrown at him. At one point he was asked how he could be so accepting of what he was going through and his reply was, “... it's my nature.” He suffered no physical pain, but spoke of how he wished he wasn’t such a burden on his dear wife and family. He slowly, quietly slipped away, surrounded by those he loved. He gave me a gift, if I am willing to accept it, he said, "Enjoy each day, tell those that you love that you love them." |
