ary Anne (LaPlanche) Scarfo, 62, of New Britain entered into eternal rest on May 12, 2017 after a long illness. Mary Anne was born to Norman and Evelyn (Hayden) LaPlanche on March 18, 1955 in Brooklyn, New York. She was a devoted wife of 38 years to Louis J. Scarfo. During her life, she was very active in rescuing orphaned and abandoned cats. She was a 1973 graduate of New Britain High School and a member of St. Joseph Parish. She was predeceased by her parents, Norman and Evelyn LaPlanche. Besides her loving husband and cats, whom she loved like her own children, she leaves her sister Laura and her husband, Dennis Vernacatola, sister in laws Irene M. DiPace and Caroljoyce M. Cannito. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, Donna & Jeffrey Veach, Michael & Mary Scarfo, Diane & Tom Noel, Craig & Michelle Scarfo, Danielle & Jan Linert, Gregory Cannito & Steven Zindler, Lisa Vernacatola and Stacy Girardi.
