About Bruce Isner Obituary
Bruce Rocco Isner passed away suddenly on November 18, 2023, while at his home in Dallas. He was with his cherished partner Roman Tapia. He was a devoted partner, beloved son, brother, uncle, Godfather, companion, friend and colleague who will be missed dearly by all.

Bruce leaves behind his mother Mary A. Isner, his siblings, and their spouses: Big sister Toni, brothers Bill & Teri, Hugh & Anna, Mike & Priscilla, Jon & Annette, David & Tracy, Robert & Karin and Jay & Andrea. He also leaves behind 14 nieces and nephews who treasured the week they spent in Dallas being spoiled by Uncle Bruce - Phil, Lindsay, Steven, Sara, Scott, Michelle, Chris, Andrew, Madelyn, Aidan, Robert, Erika, Jordan, Justin, and 11 great nieces and nephews.

Bruce was a generous soul, often giving of his time, life experience, and help in any way possible. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, working on LGBT advocacy, square dancing, and the occasional lively discussions. He loved to entertain and often opened his home for social gatherings and work events. A lifelong pet lover, Bruce rescued several four-legged companions including his dog Carter and cats Moo-Moo and Cray-Cray. Bruce enjoyed traveling and going on cruises. He loved the beach and watching the sunrise and sunsets. Bruce was an avid fan of the Dallas PSSA league, faithfully cheering on Roman's competitive softball games. His warm, cheerful smile earned him the title of Team Daddy.

Bruce was born in Hartford CT and raised in Windsor CT and graduated from Windsor High School in 1980. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and Business/ Management at Eastern Connecticut State University. He started his career at Transamerica Real Estate Information Companies in San Ramon, CA being promoted to Manager in Operations Accounting and relocating to Dallas. Bruce then worked as a Senior Principal Instructor at JD Edwards/ PeopleSoft/Oracle for 11 years. In 2009, Bruce moved on to work at the University of Texas (UT) Southwestern Medical Center where was an ERP Specialist and then Manager of the Information Resources Strategy & Engagement Training team where his team flourished under his leadership and will remember his legacy of "kindness and unwavering patience". Bruce cared deeply about his coworkers and was a beloved mentor in the Aspiring Leaders program. He actively supported the LGBT and Allies business resource group and was an advisor to various campus-wide initiatives. He will be deeply missed by family, friends, and colleagues. Bruce will forever be in our hearts and memories.

Bruce's Celebration of Life service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Unity of Dallas, 6525 Forest Lane, Dallas TX with a reception immediately following. A second service is planned for CT in January, 2024. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Bruce Isner to SPCA of Texas, www.SPCA.org.
