| About | Justin Aaron Durm Obituary Justin Aaron Durm age, 37 entered into eternal rest on Wednesday May 31, 2023 at the North Okaloosa Medical Center. Justin was born on October 9, 1985 to Cynthia Dortch-McCain and Aaron McQueen. While the family moved several times in his early years, Justin always referred to Crestview, FL as home. The saying goes, “It takes a village to raise a child.” Well, Justin truly had a village behind him, as he was raised not just by his parents, but by his grandparents, aunts, uncle, siblings, cousins, and number of family friends throughout the community. He excelled academically and athletically at Crestview High School, where he helped lead the football team to the 2002 state championship game. After graduating, he took his talents to the University of Central Florida in Orlando, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management in 2008. Upon completing his undergraduate studies, Justin enlisted in the US Army, spending the majority of his tour of duty in Hawaii. As a behavioral health specialist, Justin saved lives by helping individuals understand hope during difficult circumstances. During his time of service, Justin became a staunch advocate and voice for mental health awareness for veterans - a passion that lead him to author his book, 81 Days: The Hidden Suicide. Justin is survived by his mother: Cynthia Dortch-McCain(Walter); father: Aaron McQueen; siblings; aunts, uncles. nieces, nephews and a host of cousins and friends. |
