| About | GLORIA PFUND ESCAMBIA HIGH CLASS OF 1969 Gloria Basso (1949 - 2013 Obituary Gloria P. Basso 1949 -2013 Gloria P. Basso, 64, joined the Great Spirit and Holy Son, August 27, 2013, with the love of her life, partner of 36 years and her beloved dog by her side. Gloria was born March 27, 1949, in the Canary Islands. She was a graduate of Escambia High School and proud Vietnam era USAF veteran. Gloria was a devoted and loving wife, daughter, and mother who loved her family with all her heart, especially her Kathy. She was a brave warrior with a gentle heart, always had a smile and would light up any place she was in. She loved to fish and dance; if there was music Gloria was dancing. She would help anyone or any critter in need because if God created all, there is a piece of Him in everything. She leaves behind her mother, Matilda Hernandez, lifetime partner, Kathy L. Sims, son Timothy McConathy, adopted sister and brother, Martha (Sam) Lister and Carl Busey, four grandchildren, and her Jake-Jake. Memorial Services will be at NAS Pensacola Chapel September 6, 2013, followed by military honors at Barrancas National Cemetery. My deepest gratitude to our neighbors, co-workers at the FFSC, Covenant Hospice, West Florida Hospital ER and 6th Floor staff and Mary, NASP Chapel, who surround us like angels.
