About | Dawn Renee Silvers passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 29, 2008. She was struck and killed by an automobile while jogging on Sugarloaf Key. She was training for an upcoming race for which she was registered. Her fiancé, Roy, wore her number and ran the race in her memory. Dawn was born on October 15, 1965 in Dayton, Ohio, but spent most of her life in the Florida Keys. She was a very selfless person, always putting the needs of others before her own. She was a very proud mother, a devoted fiancé, a loyal friend and will be missed by the many lives she has touched. She was a proud member of the Vineyard Community Church and the church's women's group; an avid runner, and a successful masseuse. She enjoyed spending time with her fiancé, Roy, and their cats; gardening, taking photos, cooking, entertaining family and friends, and volunteering. She is preceded in death by her fathers, Harry Silvers and Walter Oatley; maternal grandparents, Hollis and Ann McLaughlin; and paternal grandfather, Roy Silvers. She is survived by her beautiful children, Jordan Taylor and Sophia Renee; best friend and fiancé, Roy Payne; mother Pat Silvers, grandmother Ada Silvers, brother Rodney Silvers, sister Theresa Bateman, brother Todd (Danette) Silvers, sister Tiffany O'Connell, aunt Kathy (Bryant) Mangum, and her niece, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by her extended families: the Payne family, Joe and Meri-Lynn Britz and family, the Vineyard Community Church, and Bill W's family. A memorial service and celebration of Dawn's life was held Monday, June 2, 2008 at the Vineyard Community Church in Big Pine Key. A memorial page for Dawn can be accessed at www.DawnSilvers.com. |
