April Hughes Reeves, 52, of Port Orange, died unexpectedly of cardiac arrest, Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Halifax Health. Born April 24, 1957 in Daytona Beach, FL, April was a loving and devoted wife, a wonderful mother, daughter, sister, aunt and doting grandmother. April loved life and everyone in her life. Family, friends and anyone she met were important to her. Her legacy in this life is the loving, caring, giving and lovable spirit in which she lived day to day. She touched many lives from family, friends, co-workers and neighbors, to anyone and everyone she met. She lit up any room she was in. It is not possible to count the gifts she gave to this world. Talking on the phone to friends, family and her daughter-in-law gave her great pleasure. She loved going to FSU football games with her husband, Brian, and the cruises they took together over the years. She had an infectious laugh. She taught her husband the importance of hugging and many other things too. She was talented, smart, fun and a dedicated employee in the health care field for 32 years. April was a cardio pulmonary manager at Atlantic Medical Center prior to working at Halifax Health. She worked in various departments before leaving in March 2009. Her spirit will live on through many people. She leaves behind countless family and friends including her husband Brian Reeves, soul-mate for 10 years; sons Kyle Crider (wife Jennifer); and Jimmy Eady; grandchildren Hunter and Hailey Crider; parents Reid Hughes (wife Mary) and Nancy Force; sister Cyndi Parker (husband Clint); brother Reid (Buddy) Hughes Jr.; mother in-law Lucille Reeves; and father-in-law Ron Reeves (wife Anne); sisters-in-law Rhonda Valley (husband Tom) and Jennifer Fuller (husband Mike); brother-in-law Steve Reeves; step sister Dawn Yeargin (husband Mark); step daughter Andrea Eady; nieces Shaylan Keirstead (husband Pete), Shyane Novak (husband Greg), Alyssa April Monaghan and nephews Ryan Monaghan (wife Nicki) and Bryce Monaghan. Friends may call Friday 6-8 p.m. at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home 4815 Clyde Morris Blvd, Port Orange. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, at A Family Church 920 Beville Rd.
