About | Beverly D. Brubaker, 87, died Aug. 31, 2005, at Indian River Memorial Hospital. She was born in Philadelphia and moved to Vero Beach in 1958 from Schaefferstown, Pa. She was a graduate of Drexel University, Philadelphia, and received her master's from Florida Atlantic University. She was a home economics teacher at Vero Beach High School for 20 years before her retirement in 1978. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma National Teachers Society, the National Retired Teachers Association and the American Hibiscus Society. Surviving are her sons, Lee Brubaker, Harry Brubaker and Karl Brubaker, all of Vero Beach; daughter, Dawn Smith of Vero Beach; sister, Virginia Darlington of Ashburn, Va.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman, in 1978, and granddaughter, Amber Brubaker, in 2001. Memorial contributions may be made to the "Beverly D. Brubaker Scholarship Fund" at any Wachovia Bank. SERVICES: A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Sept. 8 at the First United Methodist Church, Vero Beach, with the Rev. Dr. Charles C.
