About | Long-time Arlington friend and supporter Joanne Carr Hunter died December 6, 2007. She was the former owner of Green Brothers Nursery and is survived by her daughter, Debbie Hunter Koltermann (Class of 1976) and her husband, Dave, of Ballston Park, NY; son Keith Hunter and his wife, Georgianna, of Smyrna; sister, Judy Ford and her husband, Mark, of Rex; grandchildren, Bryan Hunter, Logan Koltermann, Annaleise Koltermann, and Rachael Ramey. The family received friends Friday, December 7, at Parrott Funeral Home, and the service was there at 1 pm on Saturday, December 8, with Rev. Karen Lyons officiating. Interment was at Johnson United Methodist Church Cemetery in Warrenton, GA, at 4:30 pm Those wishing may send an on-line condolence at www.parrottfuneralhome.com. Mrs. Hunter was a wonderful part of Arlington. The soccer complex is Hunter Field, and she would remind anyone who asked how she had spent time on her hands and knees to pull weeds out of the beautiful sod. Even after Debbie graduated from Arlington in 1975, Joanne continued working at ballgames and at many events. She loved Norman Rockwell paintings, antiques, plants and trees, her family and many friends. She was a wonderful cook whose iced tea and fried chicken were legend. Many thanks to those who have made memorial gifts to refurbish the Hunter Field sign at Arlington. |
