About | Bernita A. Bryant Bernita Anderson Bryant, 47, died Thursday afternoon (Oct. 11, 2007) at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Fla. after a short illness. She was a native of Waynesville, but lived most of her life in Waycross. She was employed with Wal-Mart as a sales associate. She was a graduate of Brantley County High School, and a graduate of Waycross-Ware Technical School. She was a member of Powerhouse of Faith. She was the daughter of the late Willis Anderson and Elnora Smith Anderson. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Quantavia Smith; six brothers, Earl, Otis, Willie Calvin, Kenneth, Henry Sr. and Lucious Anderson. Survivors include her husband of 18 years, Henry Bryant, of Waycross; three daughters, Dorothy D. Bryant, of Waycross, Dana Anderson Vickers (husband Eric), of Waycross, and Hope R. Anderson, of Waycross; three "adopted" children, Brandi Cobb, Vonda Hicks and Marvin Poole (wife Delana); six grandchildren, Denaria Anderson, Keyaira Anderson, Samantha Anderson, Quantaria Smith, Cory Smith Jr, and Akira Bethea; five additional "adopted" grandchildren; father-in-law, Roscoe Bryant; two brothers, Clyde Anderson, of Lake City, Fla., and Charles Anderson, of Waycross; four sisters, Mabel Murphy (husband Credell), of Waynesville, Shirley Roberson, of Brunswick, Elizabeth Mitchell (husband Leonard), of Waycross, and Brenda Murphy (husband Harry), of Waynesville; six sisters-in-laws and four additional brothers-in-law, Maevern Anderson of Waycross, Dorothy Anderson of Waynesville, Deborah Brown, Wanda Glenn (husband Joseph), Belinda Young (husband Kenny), Jerome Bryant and Danny Bryant, all of Baltimore, Md.; special friend and co-worker, Linda Merritt; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Power House of Faith, 1608 Louisiana Ave., Waycross (New Town Community). Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
