| About | Mr. W. Barron Cumming Sr., 69, of Griffin, passed away on Monday, March 1, 2010. Mr. Cumming was born on Jan. 11, 1941, in Griffin, Ga., to the late Joseph Robinson Cumming and the late Gretchen Steele Cumming. He was preceded in death by his wife Dena Batton Cumming. After graduating from Griffin High School in 1959, he graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Georgia in 1962 and from the University of Georgia, School of Law passing the Bar Exam in 1964 prior to his graduation. Mr. Cumming practiced law in Griffin for 46 years and was the former mayor and city attorney for the city of Griffin. Mr. Cumming was also the director of First Federal/United Bank for over 30 years.
