Donna J. Ratcliff, 48, of Cohutta, lost her battle with cancer Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009, in the comfort of her home. She was a wonderful mother and nana, a great person and a good friend. Her greatest love and joy were her children and grandchildren. Many knew her as "Momma." She always put others needs before her own. She was so loving and loved by all. Donna brought a smile, love and happiness to everyone who knew her. This earth will never be the same without her. The heavens now sing with her there. She will be sadly missed by her family and all that knew her. She was preceded in death by her mothe Joyce Holcomb of Dalton and her father and stepmother Billy and Barbara Duckett of Dalton. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Allen and Joanie Ratcliff and her granddaughter Ashley Ratcliff of Cohutta; her daughter and son-in-law Maria and Cliff Cooper and her grandsons Richie and Devin Cooper of Dalton; their father and special companion of 27 years Tim Ratcliff; close friend Sonia English; and her "Loving Boyfriend Jody Quarles"; brothers and sisters, Wayne Duckett of Chatsworth, Chip Duckett of New York, Gebarb Acosta of Dalton, Lori Duckett of Dalton and Diane Williams of Dalton, and their families.The family will receive friends and family for visitation on Monday at Ponders Funeral Home in Dalton from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The funeral will be in the chapel of Ponders Funeral Home Monday at 1 p.m. Burial will be in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Tunnel Hill.
