Mrs. Donna "Lynn" Baxter Tate, age 52, 226 Daryl Road, Silver Creek, passed away Tuesday morning, March 4, 2008, at her residence in her husband’s arms.

Mrs. Tate was born in Floyd County on December 27, 1955, daughter of the late William Walter Baxter and the late Jeanette Newberry Baxter. She was a member of the Flint Hill Baptist Church. She started her working career immediately after high school as a licensed cosmetologist, she the worked in the medical field for 20 years. Upon he medical retirement, she devoted her life to being a loving wife, mother and Nana. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a special cousin, Yvonne Newberry Williams.

Survivors include her loving husband of 33 years, Sid Tate; a daughter, Mrs. Brook Shell and her husband, James, Silver Creek; a son, Bryan Tate and his wife, Marsha, Rome; Nana’s 3 angels, Syndey, Lewis and Carson Shell; a brother, Mike Baxter and his wife, Debbie, Silver Creek; a special aunt, Mrs. Vera Newberry, Silver Creek; several other aunts, uncles, nephews and cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2pm at the Flint Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Ladell Jacobs and her pastor, the Rev. Don Spears officiating. Interment will follow in the Flint Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Tate will lie instate at the church on Friday from 1 until 2pm.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home on Thursday from 7 until 9pm. At other hours they may be contacted at the residence.

Pallbearers are asked to assemble at the Flint Hill Baptist Church on Friday at 1:30pm and include: Chris Baxter, Mark Baxter, Joey Tate, John Newberry, Ronnie Newberry, Bryan Middleton, Donald Middleton, Ray Chappell, Bobby Lee Newberry and Robert Kenny.

Henderson & Sons Funeral Home has charge of the funeral arrangements.
