About | Dec 07 1960-Sep 18 2008 Ms. Donna Sue Taylor of Rainbow City, AL, formerly of Lindale and Rockmart, went home to be with the Lord in the early morning hours on Thursday, September 18, 2008. Donna was born in Floyd Hospital on December 7, 1960 to James Audley Taylor, who preceded her in death on July 11, 1992, and Bonnie Magnolia Trotter Taylor, who preceded her in death on December 9, 1998. She was raised in Lindale and attended the Pepperell Schools. She graduated from Pepperell High School in 1978. Donna received a B. S. (1982) and M. S. (1988) in Health and Physical Education from West Georgia College. She received an Ed. S. (1993) in Health and Physical Education from Jacksonville State University. She was a member of the KAPPA DELTA PA International Education Honor Society. Donna taught Middle School Health and Physical Education in the Polk County School System for 22½ years. Due to complications of her diabetes, she took a medical retirement in December 2005. Donna was very active in the Camp Seale Harris, a diabetic educational camp for children. She served on their Board of Directors for several years and later on their Advisory Board. In 1997, she was honored with the Charlotte Eichold Award for Best Outstanding Volunteer. Donna was an active member of the Pleasant Valley South Baptist Church where she taught childrens Sunday School and sang in the choir. Upon moving to Rainbow City, AL, she became active in White Springs Baptist Church where she taught adult Sunday School and sang in the choir. She is survived by a brother, Rev. Nathan Taylor, and his wife, Denise, Rainbow City, AL; a nephew, Timothy Taylor, Rainbow City, AL; aunts, uncles and many friends also survive. |
