About | Obituary for Kelly Duane Pratt Kelly Duane Pratt, 70, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2018 at Portneuf Medical Center. He was born November 8, 1948 to Verl Pratt and Dorothy Steed. Kelly was the youngest of three children. In his early childhood days, he enjoyed going to the family farm in Inkom, Idaho and spending time with all his cousins, especially Kenny. He graduated from Highland High School in 1967 and was drafted into the Army shortly after. Kelly served our country during the Vietnam War. After Kelly returned home from Vietnam, he immediately started working alongside his dad learning and mastering the skill of carpentry. He spent his entire working years building and remodeling. He was very good at his job and loved everything about it. He even shared some of his skills with his son and grandsons. He met Kathleen Rosen and her son Richard in 1973. They later married and in 1976 had a daughter, Rebecca. This marriage ended in divorce. Kelly then reconnected with his high school sweetheart, Peggy. They married in 1978 and a year later his second daughter, Kimberly, was born. Kelly spent all his time enjoying his family, including the numerous "extra" kids that looked up to him and called him pops or dad. He loved everything about the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and four wheeler rides. He especially loved when he got to share these adventures with his family and friends. Kelly was a self-taught mechanic and was very good at it. He spent countless hours working on cars out of his own garage. The one thing Kelly loved to do more than anything, was tell stories about the past. More often than not you had already heard the story he was telling but would listen anyway just to see his eyes light up or hear the excitement in his voice. Kelly is survived by his sister Barbra (Melvin) Beebe, his son Richard Rosen, daughters Rebecca and Kimberly Pratt, eight grandchildren, Skylar, Amanda, Sydnee, Justin, KaDee, Dylan, Nate, Jaxson and four great grandchildren, Stevie Jo, NyLaya, Oliver, and ZyArya. He was preceded in death by his wife Peggy, his parents, grandparents and brother, Doyle Pratt. Funeral services are under the direction of Downard Funeral Home, 241 North Garfield Ave, Pocatello. A viewing will be held January 2, 2019 from 6pm to 8pm at the funeral home. Per Kelly's wishes, cremation will follow. Memorial services will be held January 3, 2019 at 1pm at Downard Funeral Home with military rights being offered by the Pocatello Veterans Honor Guard at Mountain View Cemetery.
