Date of Passing Nov 10, 2007
About From the obituary in the Idaho Press Tribune:

Stephanie Laurel Nyhart, 46, passed away Nov. 10, 2007, and is at peace in heaven after her three-year battle with cancer. She was born in Huron, South Dakota, on March 14, 1961, to Isabella Gertrude and John Christian Harmel.
In the early '70s, Stephanie's family moved to Nampa, where she later graduated from Nampa High School in 1980. Growing up in the small town of Nampa, Stephanie was fun loving and made many friends.

Stephanie enjoyed the outdoors, especially snow skiing, motorcycling and rafting down the Boise River. She was a strong person, independent and did not shy away from tough situations. After completing beautician school, Stephanie became a hairdresser and later moved to Boise to work, but maintained her clients and friends back in Nampa.

Stephanie later moved to San Diego County in the late 1980s, where she worked as a hairdresser in Solana Beach. After she gave birth to her son in 2003, she enjoyed staying home to raise her son.

In 1998, she married her husband Jeffrey. They later lived in New Orleans and Kailua, Hawaii, before returning to California in 2001 where she resided in Oceanside.

Stephanie lived a very active and carefree life enjoying her husband, son, and family dog Maxx. She was easy to talk with and had many friends and interests. She loved the excitement of traveling. She's traveled most of the U.S. and really enjoyed Broadway in New York City and the New Orleans Jazz Festival. Stephanie also made numerous trips to Mexico, as well as a number of trips to Europe where she visited Spain, France, Germany, Czech Republic and England. She also enjoyed dining out with family and friends, fine wine, watching the horse races, as well as outdoor concerts.

She's best known for her love of life, feistiness, laughter and wonderful sense of humor. Her memory will be cherished forever by her loving family and friends.
She is survived by her husband Jeffrey, son Kael, sister Jackie Youngman, and four brothers Mike, John, Jeff and Dave Harmel, as well as her many friends.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Nov. 17, at the Blinder Memorial Chapel (South Mesa Chapel), Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, Calif.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the San Diego Hospice, 4311 Third Ave., San Diego, CA 92103.
