| About | Darrell passed away this morning (Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at 11:30 PST) in Carson City, NV at the age of 83. Darrell requested there to be no funeral and to be cremated. He wants his ashes to be part at his mother's site (Rose Eleanor Munkres Fike, buried @ Salmon Cemetery) and part at his first wife (Joan Helen Welker Fike, buried @ Boise). Darrell died from complications of a double heart valve transplant. Darrell was born June 14, 1940 in Salmon, Idaho, son of Walter Vern Fike and Rose Eleanor Munkres. Darrell graduated from Salmon High School in 1958. From 1956 thru 1959 worked for Paul Brog at Salmon Valley Cheese. Attended Idaho State University in 1959, graduating in 1966 with a B.S. in Pharmacy. During college the summer of 1960 worked for the US Forest Service at Cobalt Ranger Station & Cottonwood Lookout. On Saturday, August 31, 1963 Darrell married Joan Helen Welker from Boise, Idaho. Joan died in May of 1982, they were married for 18 yrs. Darrell married Claudia Jane Prator in May of 1985, later divorced in1994, married nine years. In January 2003, Darrell married Patricia Ann Bagley, married for almost seventeen years when Pat passed away in 2019. From 1966 to 1970, Darrell was the Staff Pharmacist at OSCO Drug in Boise, Idaho. Then for the next three years Pharmacy Manager for Mutual Pharmacy in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 1973, Darrell moved to Payette, Idaho and purchased the Wilson Drug, selling in 1979 and moved to Carson City, Nevada employed at Raley's Food & Drug as the Staff Pharmacist. Darrell spent time with organizations such as Navy League of the US, Nevada State President NLUS (Navy League of the United States) for three years. Now National Director NLUS, Committee Chairman of the Boy Scouts of America (1980-1995) Troop #33) Darrell is survived by his sister, Verla Lee Marshall (Leo Ray), Salmon; son, Sean Patrick Fike, Valley Park, MO; and daughter, Rhonda Lee Ralls, Boise, ID; two granddaughters, Dasha (2014) and Katya (2015) plus 4 additional grandchildren (two with Rhonda & two with Sean), and sister-in-law, Judy Nutt Fike. Preceded by his mother, Rose Eleanor Fike in July 1967; his father, Vern Fike in May 1992; brother, Richard Lester Fike in January 2021; Son, Brian Grant Fike in July 2021; First wife, Joan Helen Fike in May 1982; Third wife, Patricia Ann in December 2019 |
