About | Julia Ann Reagle Hokanson Lindgren, 68, of Seattle, died Friday, November 14, 2008 at her home in Seattle, Washington, surrounded by her loving family. She died after a nine year battle with ovarian cancer at the young age of 68. She was very happy in her newly remodeled home and blessed to be surrounded by loved ones. Funeral services were May 23, 2009 at Salmon City Park in the first pavilion. Grave side services were in the Salmon Cemetery followed by a luncheon at Salmon City Park. She was born Sunday, August 18, 1940,the oldest of four children to Ben and Phyllis Reagle. She lived in California and Washington, where she worked as a school bus driver, driving professionally in the town of Seattle, Washington. She was able to be home when her children were. That was important to the divorced mother of eight. Her first marriage to Oliver Hokanson was blessed with Margaret, Debbie and Shane. They later divorced. She gained a new son with her second marriage to Jim Lindgren and to this union was born Melody, Larry, Annie and Phyllis. They later divorced. She sold Avon and acquired an elaborate collection of Avon statues and perfume bottles acquired from yard sales and antique shops. Her collections also included books, musical clocks and rings. Julia's children's friends came to share their home and life, enough to call her mom. She loved her family and grandchildren and friends. She spent her life doing what she loved best, being around children and teaching them to read and write. She was an avid reader. She loved mystery and non-fiction the best. She was a school bus driver for many, many years until her battle with cancer forced her to leave the job she loved. She is survived by her father; Benjamin Reagle and her children; Debbie (Tom) Swanson, Bill Lindgren, Shane (Teresa) Hokanson, Larry (Judi) Lindgren, Annie Idom, Phyllis Reich and her three sisters; Sharron (John) Prokschl, Annette Neil, Susie (Mario) Ferrante; and her grandchildren; Tiffany Hokanson, Tara (Lenny) Castle, Tasha Hokanson, Darold Swanson, Sarah Swanson, Amber Swanson, Larry Lindgren III, Steven Lindgren, Stacy Lindgren, Katrina Lindgren, Billy Lindgren II, Crystal Lindgren, Julie Pinson, Zackary O’Connor, Nichole Reich, Jeremy Reich, Angela Baker, and great-grandchildren; Monika Jackson, Damien Castle and yet another one on the way. She was preceded in death by her daughters Melody Lindgren and Peggy Baker, and her favorite son-in-law, Faron Idom as well as her beloved Mother; Phyllis Reagle. She was a wonderful strong woman and mother who taught us to be loving, honest and independent. She loved being a grandmother and was very excited to become a great-grandmother. We will miss her every day. We love you mom, grandma, great-grandma!! A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm, on Saturday, December 13, 2008, at the Community of Christ Highland Park Congregation Church located at 8611 11th Avenue SW Seattle Washington 98106 |
