| About | Funeral services for Loren Douglas England, 61, are Friday, March 9, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. at the Salmon River Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mickey Tewalt officiating. Loren Douglas England passed away Sunday, March 4, 2001, at the Discovery Care Center after a long illness. Doug was born Friday, April 14, 1939 to LeRoy and Mabel England in Salmon. He attended school at 4th of July Creek and Salmon High School. At a very young age, his love for the outdoors was very apparent and fishing and hunting became his way of life. As a young man he worked on the Shep Ranch and Mackay Bar, which is in the primitive area. For many years, he would pack the mules and horses and guide another successful hunter to his elk. Doug would keep his family entertained with many stories and experiences and a few tall tales for a laugh. He also enjoyed working with wood and was employed by Joe Chapman Cabinet Builders of Lewiston. During his years of guiding and carpentry, he made Lewiston his home. He was a professional cabinetmaker and had many cabinets on display in banks at Seattle and Portland. Many friend and family have gun cabinets and furniture made by his hands. Doug was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters. He is survived by Wayne (Margaret) England of North Fork; Dorothy (Charles) Church of Kingsport, Tennessee; Donna Grundahl of Florence, Montana; Mary Ellen Pancake of Redding California; Thelma Bowman of Winchester; Curtis (Patsy) England: Marvin “Butch” (Shelly) England of Salmon; Linda (Don) Conkin of Deer Park, Washington; William England of Seattle, Washington; and many nephews and nieces. Burial will be in the Salmon Cemetery. Arrangements were handled under the direction of the Salmon River Funeral Chapel of Salmon. |
