About Louis “Louie” Earl Overcast,

Louis was born to Frank and Florence Overcast, in Valdez, Alaska. Louie graduated from Loyola High School and enlisted in the Army. He served abroad in Germany until he was honorably discharged. He is also survived by this brothers Richard ”Dick”, Charles “Chuck” and predeceased by his sister Barbara “Barb”.
Louie was an intelligent man who possessed a dry sense of humor and could deliver a punch line without cracking a smile. He enjoyed sharing his love of gadgets, computers, and all electronics with his family and friends. Louie could fix just about anything and was a master at PVC pipe projects and passed on that trait to his boys. He and Carol shared their love of gardening together, creating beautiful landscapes wherever they lived. Louie was also a talented photographer taking pictures of everything ranging from weddings and events to still life flowers from his garden.
The family has decided to postpone the memorial service due to covid concerns, but they will let everyone know of the date. A celebration for both Carol, who passed 08/25/20, and Louie’s life, will be held in Missoula at a future date.

Written by Lou for the 45TH Reunion Book
Left Salmon summer 1957 moved to Missoula and graduated from Loyola High School in 1958. Joined Army in the fall of 1958 finishing the tour of duty in the fall of 1960. Started University of Montana the winter quarter of 1961. Lied exaggerated and hustled an old classmate from Sacred Heart Academy school across the street from Loyola (she used to give me her mistakes when she worked at DQ in 1958) begged her to marry me and she did on Sept 15 1962. First baby boy Eric was born October 8 1963. Graduated with B.S. the winter Quarter 1966. Second baby boy Randy was born April 19 1966. And yes Carol worked through all of this while I went to School. Joined Ayerst Laboratories June 1966 and moved to Yakima Washington. In the Fall of 1980 decided I needed a change and with my brother we took over the Crescent Club changed it to Timberline and attempted to manage it unfortunately the economy fell apart and we couldn’t keep it open. Joined Glaxo Pharmaceuticals in 1984 and moved to Kennewick WA. Realized why I left Pharmaceutical Sales and took on several medical equipment lines to sell and moved to Seattle. When my travels become too extensive (four NW states). I wanted to stay closer to home and joined Radio Shack as a store manager in 1989. Loved the electronic part of the business and had a store in the University of Washington district which was an education in its own right. Moved to Everett and a new home. Decided to move to a bigger electronic retailer and joined Circuit City in 1995 as a computer sales person and became an operations manager in 1996. Poor economy and changes in my position requirements caused me to reconsider retail sales and management enough to quit in 2002. Have been doing some at home business stuff getting really serious about my photography enjoying my computer stuff my kids grand kids and yes my wife not necessarily in that order. Had one short scare the day before our 40th anniversary I had a mild MI ended up with an angioplasty and two small stents inserted. The worst part was after the stents were inserted the Dr. said that the stents had a 40-60% chance of reoccluding...boy that gets you on the ball for your health care.....must have done something right.....Have had no further symptoms. The rest is yet to come
