About | Grave side services for Robert “Bob” Gus Stephanishen, age 59, were held Wednesday, May 31 at 11:00 a.m. at the Salmon Cemetery with Bob Perry officiating. Bob passed away Thursday, May 25, 2000 at the Steele Memorial Hospital. Bob was born on Tuesday, September 24, 1940 in Salmon, Idaho, the son of Gus and Mary Stephanishen. He attended school in Seattle, Washington and graduated from Salmon High School. He attended one year at the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho. Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed golf and bowling over the years. He was a member of the Elks, Salmon Volunteer Fire Fighter, Salmon Jaycees and serve two terms on the Salmon City Council. He worked at Gambles Store and as a salesman for the Ford Garage. In later years, he worked for Sawmill Construction and drove the Mail Stage from Salmon to Idaho Falls. Bob was married twice, first to Rose Randolph and they had three children. He is survived by his children, Robert, Shellie, Bart and a stepson, Donald Dance; his mother, Mary Stephanishen and one brother, Joe (Karen) Stephanishen; one sister, Kathy Stephanishen, all of Salmon; his adopted brother, Troy and adopted sister, Cindy of Boise; eight grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Ronald. Burial was in the Salmon Cemetery. Two songs were played, In the Garden and Amazing Grace. The pallbearers were Tom Taylor, John Moore, Sherm Dickens, Keith Amar, Jody Seybold and Shawn O’Reilly. The honorary pallbearers were Cecil Cooper, Mike Larson, Mack Hughes, Art Ling, Larry Moultrie, Joe Nameniuk and Gene Robertson |
