About | Donald E Lampe, 71, of Boise, Idaho passed away peacefully on April 7, 2019 in Yuma, AZ. Gene, as he was known to his family and friends, was born in Boise, Idaho to Donald C Lampe and Bonnie L Bolen on February 13, 1948. He was raised in Nampa, Idaho where he graduated from Vallivue High School in 1966. He then went on to the University of Idaho where he started out in Engineering and then transferred over to business. On June 15,1968 he married Paula J Morgan of Boise, Idaho. He decided to stay in Boise and transferred from the University of Idaho to Boise State College where he graduated in May of 1971 Out of this union, they had two children, a son, Donald E Lampe Jr. and a daughter, Kristina L. Lampe. Gene worked as a construction accountant until his retirement in 2012. While the kids where growing up he coached his son’s baseball team from little league up through Babe Ruth. He videoed his daughter’s high school basketball games all four years . He supported his children in all sports and introduced them to bowling at a young age. While traveling to different cities in Idaho to attend his children’s bowling tournaments he was also very active in the Winnebago Club. He was local president of the Snake River Winnies and state president of the Idaho Gem State Winnebago Club. He loved to travel in the RV and go camping every weekend during the summer. After his wife retired, they became snowbirds traveling to Arizona before it got cold in Boise. There he enjoyed playing golf three times a week. Gene is survived by his wife of 50 years, Paula Lampe of Boise, Idaho, his son and wife Gene Jr. and Becky Lampe of Star, Idaho and his daughter, Kristina Lampe of Meridian. His grandchildren, Robert Lampe and his Fiancée’ Avery Feller of Kuna, Idaho, Sydney Lampe of Boise, Idaho and Connor Lampe of Meridian, Idaho. His sister and her husband, Debi and Mike Homyk of Nampa, Idaho. He has two nieces, Tami Cummins of Las Vegas, Nevada and her husband Chuck, Traci Tavares of Grand Junction, Colorado. He has one living aunt and that is Derlene Reinhart of Buhl, Idaho. There are also numerous cousins. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Bonnie Lampe and his in-laws Newell and Anna Rose Morgan. There will be a celebration of Life at his home where he and his wife have lived for the last 45 years. This will start at 1:00pm at 5500 S Silver Spur St., Boise, Idaho. Please come around the North side of the home into the back yard. |
