| About | Kathleen A. Balika (March 7, 1950 - June 2, 2010 Kathleen A. Balika, 60 of Sycamore died peacefully on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at her home. She was born March 7, 1950 in Chicago. The daughter of Francis and Margaret "Peggy" (Gallagher) Goatley. She married Paul A. Balika on Aug. 13, 1988 in Aurora. Kathy was formerly employed by the Illinois Central Railroad and was the Cortland Twp Clerk for several years. She loved to spend time with her family and friends and was a volunteer for DeKalb County Hospice. She is survived by her husband, Paul; her daughter, Melissa; one step-son, John; her four grandchildren, Austin, Jayden, Hallie and Luke; her mother, Peggy Goatley; two sisters, Sharon (Alan) Siebert and Linda (Tim) Pelke; one brother, Timothy Goatley; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Francis; one sister, Eileen and one brother, Frank, Jr. Her Memorial Service will be on Saturday |
